The Panama City and Canal Sightseeing -combo- Tour (3-4) hours begins with pickup at Tocumen International Airport or the Cruise ship port and a scenic drive through the three cities of Panama: Panama Vieja, Colonial Panama and the modern area of town. Your guide will point out areas of interest along the way. The Casco Antiguo district, built in 1673, boasts the impressive Spanish architectural design and is home to many famous plazas, cobblestone streets, and public parks. Transport yourself back in time as you visit France Plaza, Las Bovedas, the Flat Arch, San Jose church with its gold altar and the Cathedral church.
Next, you’ll be driven to the famous Panama Canal, driving through former American military Fort Clayton now call Ciudad del Saber (The city of knowledge). Fascinating stories about the canal starting with the planning, site selection, and the drama during the negotiating and construction beginning by the French Ferdinand de Lesseps their collapse and finalizing by the United States.
If possible, the schedule will be accommodated to allow you to watch vessels as they travel through the Miraflores Locks, one of the canal’s other lock systems. Your tour also includes admission to the Panama Canal Visitors Center.
Time permitting the tour also include a visit to the Amador Causeway, a manmade network of beautiful islands and enjoy breathtaking views of the Panama Canal and the Panama City skyline. The drop-off will be at your starting point.
